Clearview Township is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying those involved in a recent rash of vandalism that took place over the last week at both Station Park and Ives Park in Stayner.
Clearview Township staff were shocked to find that vandals had tipped over portable washrooms rented by Clearview for the convenience of residents, Music, Market & Park It patrons and staff in both park locations.
The vandals also destroyed recently added park amenities, ripping apart tables and attached seating and shoving the parts into the tipped-over portable washrooms. As a result, the Township will no longer be able to secure portable washroom contracts from some vendors and if the vandalism continues will be forced to remove targeted park amenities.
Mayor Measures is disheartened to see such vandalism in our community, “Destruction of public property hurts us all. Vandalism as we have seen in our community these past weeks is simply unacceptable. If you know something about this damage, I encourage you to call the OPP.”
Clearview has provided these amenities to improve enjoyment and quality of life for our residents and is saddened that the actions of a few will shortchange the rest of our community.
We urge anyone with information regarding this destruction to please contact the Huronia West OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Information can also be submitted to Crime Stoppers online at www.p3tips.com.
