Clearview Township is committed to providing equal opportunity and creating a culture of inclusiveness for all residents, visitors and employees of Clearview Township by providing services, goods and access to facilities and events in a way that respects everyone’s dignity. As per the AODA, the Township is required to incorporate accessibility criteria and features when procuring or acquiring goods, services, self-service kiosks or facilities, including written materials, web content and the delivery of programs, except where it is not practicable to do so. Contractors will be asked to include accessible features and criteria in the goods, services, self-serve kiosks or facilities that they provide to the Township. Contract specification and evaluation will include these criteria or features where applicable.
Accessibility training required by Contractors
The Accessibility for Ontarians Act, 2005 (AODA) Customer Service Standard and Integrated Accessibility Standard Regulation applies to all contractors and their employees dealing with the public or third parties on behalf of Clearview Township, as well as contractors who participate in the development of Township policies, practices or procedures governing the provision of goods and services to members of the public. Under this provincial legislation, contractors must ensure that people performing this work are trained in the AODA Customer Service Standard and the Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation and such contractors are required to sign the Clearview Contractor Accessibility Agreement to confirm AODA training.

Ontario Human Rights Code and Integrated Accessibility Standards
The AODA’s Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation (IASR), requires contractors who provide goods, services or facilities on behalf of Clearview Township to ensure that all people performing this work receive training on the IASR and on the Ontario Human Rights Code as they pertain to persons with disabilities.

Training Records
Contractors must keep records of all training, including dates when training is provided, the number of employees who receive training and individual training records. Contractors are required to ensure that this information will be made available if requested by the Township or by Ontario’s accessibility authorities.
