The Township is currently completing an update to its Development Charges Background Study and By-law. Development charges are fees collected from builders and developers to help pay for the cost of infrastructure required because of growth.
The Township is completing this update using growth projections to the year 2051 and recently completed Township studies and plans, including:
- Parks and Recreation Plan
- Water and Wastewater Servicing Plan, and
- Active Transportation and Mobility Plan
The following key dates are provided for this process:
- February 23, 2026, at 5:30 PM – Required Development Charges Public Meeting (regularly scheduled Council meeting).
- March 23, 2026, at 5:30 PM – Proposed Development Charges By-law Passage (regularly scheduled Council meeting).
The Draft Development Charges Background Study, prepared by Watson & Associates Economists Ltd., dated January 9, 2026, is provided on the Township’s website, clearview.ca/development-charges.
